Pre-Season Events

As you prepare for your visit to campus for the University's Pre-Season Events, here is some important information you should know. 

Sunday, August 20 - New & Gold Game:

The New & Gold Game will feature a simulation of a Game Day experience including a Fighting Irish scrimmage, performance by the Notre Dame Marching Band, and participation from the Notre Dame cheerleaders.

  • Free & open to everyone.
  • Tailgating is prohibited.
  • Gates will open at 2:00 p.m.
  • All parking for this event is first come, first served across campus.
  • Kick-off at 3:30 p.m. with general admission seating. No tickets are required.
  • Tours will be held from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. and offered on a first-come, first-served basis. No tickets are required.

Tour Information:

  • Duncan Student Center
    • Guests should line up at Door 12 on the south side exterior of the building.
    • No stadium concourse access
    • Elevators will take guests to the Dahnke Ballroom on the seventh floor and the Rasmus Family Club on the eighth floor where they can view the premium seats and views of campus.
  • Corbett Family Hall
    • South side exterior of the building at Door 4
    • No stadium concourse access
    • Elevators will take guests to the Downes Club on the seventh floor and Level 8.
  • O'Neill Hall
    • Upper concourse (4th floor) on the south side of the stadium underneath the video board.
    • Guests will be able to view South Club.

In-Stadium Concessions

  • Stand 10 - Grill Stand with Philly Cheesesteaks
  • Stand 12 - Traditional Fare plus Pot Roast and Bratwurst
  • Stand 14 - Pizza
  • Stand 18 - Traditional Fare plus Pot Roast and Bratwurst
  • Stand 19 - Nelson's BBQ
  • Stand 22 - Ben's Pretzels

East Side of Stadium

  • Domer Dogs (loaded hot dogs)
  • Healthy Cart
  • Snack Cart

West Side of Stadium

  • Hail Mary (Sausage and Italian Beef)

The University's Stadium bag policy and other Game Day policies will be in place for this event. 


Friday, August 25 - Flick on the Field:

Notre Dame will welcome students back to campus and open the Stadium again to everyone for Flick on the Field, a free, open house event featuring a showing of "Rudy" on the new video board.

"Rudy" Information:

  • Free & open to everyone.
  • Attendees may sit in the stadium bowl with general seating. No tickets are required.
  • Tailgating is prohibited.
  • Gates open at 6:00 p.m.
  • "Rudy" will begin at 7:30 p.m. on our video board.
  • All parking for this event is first come, first served across campus.
  • The University's Stadium bag policy and other Game Day policies will be in place for this event.
  • This event will be held rain or shine.

Entry Information:

Students should enter:

  • The North Tunnel entrance/Knute Rockne Gate for access to the field.
    • ONLY students are permitted on the field and no food or beverage will be permitted on the field.

Guests should enter:

  • Gates B and E for general admission seating.

Prior to the movie, guests will be entertained by music with opportunities to purchase a variety of concessions.
