The Intellectual Property Law Society has invited The Slants to come to the Law School's McCartan Courtroom on Saturday, September 30. The band will deliver a talk, answer questions, and perform some of their music. The Slants won a trademark dispute at the Supreme Court earlier this year. In short, SCOTUS held that the disparagement clause of the Lanham Act was invalid because it violated the Free Speech Clause of the First Amendment.
This event is free, and no tickets are needed. Please email email@example.com with any questions.
