The Trojans are coming to town. Coach Kelly and the Irish looking for their fifth consecutive win. First night game in 21 years. This should be fun.
The 7:30 pm kickoff will certainly make for added excitement inside Notre Dame Stadium. It has also adjusted much of the weekend schedule fairly significantly. Below are the major changes worth noting.
Friday, October 21st
Friday’s schedule is very similar to a normal football Friday schedule. The Irish Green will host the USC Pep Rally. Make sure to make it out to cheer Coach Kelly and the Irish on as the prep for Saturday night’s rivalry game. Stick around for a short fireworks show afterwards, as well.
Friday is also the official ‘puck drop’ at the new Compton Family Ice Arena. Notre Dame Men’s Hockey takes on Rensselaer in the first ever skate at their brand new facility.
Irish Madness kicks off the Men’s and Women’s Basketball seasons Friday night, as well.
Saturday, October 22nd
Many things are different on the pre-game Game Day timeline because of Saturday’s 7:30 kickoff. Two items that will stay the same is the opening of the Parking Lots at 8:00 AM and the opening of the Irish Green at 11:00. With the extended day, The Irish Green will hold two musical performances: Pat McKillen, a 2009 ND grad, and local band Half Pint Jones.
Most items on the pre-game schedule have been pushed back in accordance with kickoff. The Player Walk will be at 5:30 PM. The Bond Hall Band Concert will be at 6:00 PM. Finally, the Marching Band Step-Off from the Main Building will be at 6:40 PM.
