Are you prepared for tailgating?

2015

As the team prepares for game day against USC on October 17th, fans from all over will prepare to make their way to Notre Dame to spend the day tailgating on campus. Have Fun!

At the end of the day, you’re there for one simple reason – to enjoy Game Day! You take care of packing the car and grilling the burgers. Our Guest Services team, parking staff, police officers, and University staff will take care of the rest!

Safe In The Seat

safe_in_the_seat

Game Day Introduces New Safety Initiative

Game Day Operations is committed to continually enhancing safety and security for all fans attending Notre Dame football games, especially for our youngest Fighting Irish fans!

As we look forward to the 2015 season, Game Day is proud to introduce Safe in the Seat , a program devised to speed the process of reuniting children (and others who may be vulnerable if separated from the people they are with) and guardians who become separated while attending football games by providing wristbands that can be customized with the child’s name, the guardian’s contact information, and the child’s seat location.

Upon entrance to the stadium, parents/guardians can obtain a Safe in the Seat wristband from one of five Guest Services booths located on the lower concourse at gates A, B, C, D, and E. Prior to games, wristbands can be obtained from NDSP officers patrolling the tailgating lots.

Guardians will be asked to complete the fields on the wristbands. In the event the child and guardian become separated, ushers and officers will use the information provided on the wristbands to reunite the child and guardian so they can continue to enjoy their game day.

Questions about the Safe in the Seat program? Email us at gameday@nd.edu

Notre Dame Stadium Bag Policy

Effective for the 2015 season:

As part of an ongoing commitment to safety and security, the University of Notre Dame will continue to enforce its policy on bags and other items fans can bring into its football stadium on game days. Notre Dame strongly encourages fans to not bring ANY type of bags to the stadium.

We are taking every possible step to ensure minimal disruption or delay to stadium guests. Personal property and privacy will be respected at all times. We appreciate our fans’ cooperation and patience as the new policy is implemented.

2015 Annual Blue Mass

2015 Annual Blue Mass

10

The 2015 Blue Mass will be celebrated Thursday, October 1st, at 5:15 PM at the University of Notre Dame’s Basilica of the Sacred Heart. All are welcome to attend.

Our guest speaker will be retired Deputy District Chief Steve Chikerotis from the Chicago Fire Department. As Deputy District Chief he oversaw operations for 30 fire stations and 7 Battalions. Chief Chikerotis is a published author and for the last 25 years has worked as a screenwriter, story line consultant and has been a technical adviser for such movies as Backdraft and is now currently working on the NBC television show “Chicago Fire.”

Since October 2001, the University of Notre Dame has held an annual Mass honoring police officers, emergency medical technicians and firefighters who have lost their life in the line of duty and those who serve and protect us on a daily basis. The Blue Mass is named for the predominant color of uniforms worn by police officers and firefighters nationwide. The date for this observance is chosen annually to be as close as possible to the the “month’s mind” events of September 11th, 2001, in accordance with an ancient tradition of the Catholic Church in which the souls of the faithful departed are remembered in a special way thirty days after their passing.
