Spend part of your Saturday with the Saints on home game weekends this fall. Come nourish your Catholic faith and your mind with talks by distinguished members of the Notre Dame faculty.
McGrath-Cavadini Director of the Institute for Church Life, John Cavadini, coordinates the series which is every home game weekend from 10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. in the Andrews Auditorium of Geddes Hall. “What better way to spend Saturday, or at least part of it, than with the Saints? Through the Institute for Church Life, the opportunity is there every home game day. Each session focuses on a saint of particular interest for our lives today.” In this Year of Faith, Saturdays with the Saints features men and women who have borne witness to their faith with their lives, and in particular, martyrs of the 20th Century.
Cavadini himself will be the guest speaker in Fort Worth for the Saturday with the Saints Series. His topic: “Stories Written in Light: The Saints in the Windows of the Basilica of the Sacred Heart” “The stained glass windows in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart were ordered and chosen by Fr. Sorin. He wanted the saints depicted, and he chose which ones. Come and learn more about the Basilica, the saints in the windows, and the heart and mind of Notre Dame’s founding president. But mainly, take the time to spend a small part of Saturday surrounded by the light of the saints!”
Check out the Academic page for a updated list of speakers and topics. Be sure to take a moment and stop by Geddes Hall to share a part of your Saturday with the Saints.
