Notre Dame Music
Just about every community uses music as a joyful way to express its solidarity, and the Notre Dame community is no different. Besides the official, high-profile presentations of music by the Band of the Fighting Irish, its subgroups and the Glee Club, plus the harmonious physicality of the cheerleaders, student clubs like the Pom Squad, the Bagpipe Band, and the Undertones express their enthusiasm through music at various points during the weekend. Moreover, the entire community of students, parents, faculty, alumni, staff, and friends of Notre Dame are likely to get caught up in song when they hear the Alma Mater and the Notre Dame Victory March. Speaking of alumni, Glee Club alumni often participate in the closing numbers of the group’s Joyce Center Fieldhouse concert on Saturdays, and many hundreds of alumni from the Band return every few years to participate again. Enjoy these times when the music is multiplied.
