Game Day Recyling

It all goes in one bin

Blue bin

Be a part of Notre Dame’s efforts to go green! Gameday Recycling is easy – just pick up as many blue recycling bags as you need at one of the self-dispensing units, which are attached to light posts around the perimeter of each tailgate lot. The dispensers are blue and look like newspaper vending machines.

Throw all glass, aluminum, plastic, and cardboard from your tailgate in the blue bags – but remember, no food or liquids, so please empty your recyclable containers first. Leave the bags next to your vehicle for pick-up when you head off to the game. There are also blue bins marked with white recycling signs both around the lots and in and around the stadium.

Green Your Tailgate

Reduce and Reuse

Eliminate waste at your tailgate by exchanging disposable items for reusable ones. Serving dishes, plates, cups, flatware, and beverage dispensers are just a few of the items that can be reused at your tailgating events during the season. For those unavoidable disposable items such as napkins be sure to choose those with a high recycled content. With such a large Notre Dame community, small actions by everyone can go a long way to reducing waste on campus.
