Pedal Cab in Action

The Notre Dame campus has plenty to offer on a home football weekend. From the Trumpet concert inside the Main Building to the pep rallies at the Irish Green, the traditions of a football weekend are spread across the University’s beautiful campus. In order to allow all our guests to campus to best enjoy everything an Irish football weekend has to offer, Game Day Guest Services is proud to continue the Campus Transportation initiative for the 2012 football season.

NOTE: Due to safety issues involving darkness and extreme pedestrian and vehicular traffic, the Campus Transportation initiative is not available after Notre Dame Football games.

The Campus Transportation initiative is split into two facets:

Pedal Cab Service

Friday: 3 – 6 pm
Saturday: 10 am – 3 pm

Game Day has partnered with the Office of Sustainability to bring three human-powered pedal cabs to campus. The cabs, which can service two adults at a time, are operated by different student clubs from across campus. All proceeds from the service go toward the operator’s student club. Operators for the 2011 season include the ND Cycling Club and the GreenND student club. Look for the green and blue pedal cabs making their way around campus throughout the 2012 football weekends!

Courtesy Cart Service

Friday: 12 – 6 pm
Saturday: 10 am – 3 pm

In order to allow all guests to experience all a game weekend has to offer, Game Day will offer a fleet of golf carts available for one-way rides through the heart of campus. Given the closed-campus nature of the University, the Courtesy Cart Service will be the most efficient way to assist any guest looking to travel through the interior of campus.

The service will be primarily a flag-down service. If a guest is in need of the Courtesy Cart Service and has not been able to flag one down, they are invited to approach a Guest Services Team (the green-jacketed ushers spread throughout campus). The Guest Services Team will work with the cart drivers to meet as many guests in need as possible.
